Our Mission
The United Church in Papua New Guinea is called by God to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ, to worship God faithfully, and to serve God’s people in obedience to the Gospel. In accordance with its Constitution, the Church is committed to holistic mission that integrates evangelism, discipleship, justice, peace, and service. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, UCPNG seeks to build a faithful, united, and compassionate Christian community that witnesses to God’s love and responds to the spiritual, social, and material needs of the nation.
Our Programs
The mission of the United Church in Papua New Guinea is expressed through coordinated programs and ministries of the Assembly, Regions, Circuits, and Congregations. These include worship and discipleship, theological and Christian education, health and community services, mission and evangelism, and ministries for youth, women, and families. In line with its strategic priorities, UCPNG also implements development and social responsibility programs that promote human dignity, community empowerment, good stewardship, and sustainable development, ensuring that faith is demonstrated through action.
Our Regional Offices
UCPNG carries out its ministry through Regional structures established under the Constitution of the Church. The Regional Offices provide spiritual leadership, governance, coordination, and administrative support to Circuits, Congregations, and Church institutions within their respective areas. Working in unity with the Assembly Office, the Regions ensure that Church policies, programs, and mission priorities are effectively implemented while responding to the contextual needs of local communities.
Our Partners
The United Church in Papua New Guinea affirms the importance of partnership as an expression of Christian unity and shared mission. The Church works collaboratively with ecumenical partners, mission agencies, development organizations, government institutions, and international church partners. These partnerships strengthen the Church’s capacity to fulfill its constitutional mandate, enhance service delivery, and advance God’s mission of justice, peace, and reconciliation in Papua New Guinea and the wider world.
