Donation of Sunday School Syllabus Strengthens Children’s Spiritual Education

Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea – A major boost has been given to Sunday School ministries with the donation of 10 boxes of Sunday School syllabuses and training materials to enhance children’s spiritual education.

The donation, which includes books tailored for different age groups — 4–6, 7–9, 10–12, and 13–16 years — as well as a training manual for Sunday School teachers, was facilitated by Mrs. Jenny Charlesworth, the original author of the books. The initiative was generously sponsored by the Uniting Church Fellowship and Mission Support Group of South Australia, based in Adelaide.

As part of the initiative, 45 Sunday School teachers participated in a dedicated training program. Alongside instruction on using the new syllabus, the teachers also received Bible studies on child protection and care, equipping them with both educational tools and pastoral skills.

Church leaders expressed gratitude for the support, emphasizing that these resources will play an important role in nurturing the faith and moral development of children in Sunday Schools. The program highlights the commitment of both local and international partners to ensuring young people grow in their knowledge of Scripture and Christian values.
